The Irvin House Vineyards is Charleston’s only local winery and vineyard. It has received notable attention and award winning praise for its native Muscadine grapes. When you visit the Irvin House and partake in the wine tasting, you will love the savory tastes of five different Charleston wines, and as a gift, you will be given a souvenir glass. The landscape is among Charleston’s majestic rolling hillsides, shady oak trees, and serene lowcountry beauty. Irvin House Vineyards hosts delicious picnics and guided tours for the whole family. The vineyard is open year round, with the exception of January. The Irvin-House’s operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Museum Mile is Charleston’s introduction to its history and culture, which features a corridor of museums stretching from 375 Meeting Street (at the Charleston Visitor Center) and concluding at 51 Meeting Street of the Nathaniel Russell House. When you walk or bike along this one mile section of Meeting Street, you will be introduced to six eclectic museums, five historic homes, four parks, and Revolutionary War artifacts. Visitors can take their time walking and visiting the Mile, and they can take time out to dine at the many culturally local restaurants.

Located in the center of the Noisette neighborhood on Everglades Avenue is the North Charleston Riverfront Park. The Riverfront Park is open year round to South Carolina residents and visitors. The Riverfront Park is designed on the banks of the Cooper River. The park is open to everyone and offers free parking to its entertainment pavilion, walking paths, and large picnic shelter. Military iconic statues and sculptures are erected within the park, including the Naval Memorial, the Lone Sailor, and the Homecoming. Many festivals and events are held within the boundaries of the Riverfront Park. A beautiful green meadow and a wetland marsh are part of its natural landscape, where people can stroll along its walking paths with their pets.
