Living in Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant, SC is a large suburban town just a short drive over the Arthur Ravenel Bridge from downtown Charleston.Mount Pleasant is a more residential area compared to downtown and home to many prestigious schools such as Wando High School.

Mt. Pleasant, like most of the Charleston area, heavily relies on its water boarder with many boat launches, fishing pier, and seafood inspired restaurants. Shem Creek is a seafood hub that provides ample dockside dining venues where its diners can see fisherman and shrimpers unload their haul for the day.

Many of the homes are on the water and have breath-taking views of the marsh and river. The homes have larger yards compare to its downtown real estate neighbor which make it a more family friendly area.

Some of the local attractions include Shem Creek, Boone Hall Plantation, Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum and the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. Mt. Pleasant is a popular spot for tourist to visit for great seafood and historic appeal.

Boone Hall Plantation is filled with beautiful Oak Trees, wildlife, and gardens. Coming up the drive you are surrounded by Oaks on either side until you reach the home. Besides the beautiful scenery a well-known movie was also filmed here staring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in “The Notebook”.
