The Cassina Guide: October 2019 Events

It’s finally fall here in Charleston!  October is one of our all time favorite months of the year.  The temperatures are typically beautiful–still warm enough to enjoy the beach during the day but a little chill in the air at night.  There are so many great events going on this month but here are some of our top picks:

  1. Follypalooza Cancer Benefit (October 12): Head over to Folly Beach on Saturday, October 12th for the 11th annual Follypalooza.  The family-friendly street festival will include live music, free games, activities and vendors including art, crafts, food and more.  Tickets are $6 in advance (or $10 at the door) and proceeds go to help local cancer patients with medical bills.                                                                      (Image from Follypalooza)
  2. Fall Wine Stroll at Drayton Hall (Saturdays in October): Drayton Hall Plantation, the oldest Palladian home in North America, will open its grounds for a special wine stroll every Saturday in October from 2-4pm.  Enjoy curated wines and explore the plantation’s 125 acres set along the picturesque Ashley River. Tickets are $25 ($15 for members).                                                                          (Image from Drayton Hall)
  3. Coastal Carolina Fair (October 31-November 10): Since 1957, the Coastal Carolina Fair has been a celebrated Charleston tradition.  The annual event takes place at the Exchange Park in Ladson and offers live entertainment, rides, exhibits and more throughout the eleven day festival.                                                                      (Image from Coastal Carolina Fair)
