Summer has officially arrived in Charleston. And with summer comes some of our favorite annual events. Here are our top three picks for June:
- Spoleto Festival USA (May 25-June 10): Underway from now until June 10th, Spoleto Festival USA is one of the country’s major performing arts festivals. The 17-day event features over 150 performances including theater, live music, dance, and more throughout some of the city’s most beautiful venues. With such extensive offerings, there is something everyone will enjoy.

- Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Festival (June 2): Sweetgrass baskets are an iconic part of Charleston’s history. This annual event, taking place at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park, aims to “preserve the Gullah Geechee people’s heritage and culture, and the sweetgrass basket making art form.” There will be live performances, children’s activities, local food vendors and more.

- Party in the Park (every Tuesday in June): The perfect cure to the weekday blues! Every Tuesday in June, 103.5 WEZL and The Town of Mount Pleasant will host a free summer concert series in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. The park opens at 5pm and there will be food & drink available for purchase. A full lineup of artists can be found on the event website.
