Happy New Year!  Despite the end of the holiday season, there is no shortage of things to do in the Lowcountry this month.  January is the perfect time to explore our beautiful city with these fun events:

  1. Charleston Restaurant Week: You still have time to make reservations for Charleston Restaurant Week.  The semi-annual event, taking place now through Sunday, features some of the city’s most popular dining establishments who are offering fixed three course menus.  The options range from casual to high-end so head over the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association’s website to peruse the many mouth-watering options.gnome
  2. Charleston Comedy Festival: Ready for a night of laughs?  Charleston’s four day Comedy Festival, taking place Wednesday, January 20th through Saturday, January 23rd, features local performers as well as out of town talent at venues throughout the downtown peninsula.Oysters
  3. Lowcountry Oyster Festival: What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than shucking 80,000 pounds of oysters with a few thousand of your closest friends?  The much-celebrated Lowcountry Oyster Festival, one of our favorite winter events, will take place on January 31st at Boone Hall Plantation.  In addition to oysters, there will be contests, live music, a children’s area and a food court.
