Even though February is a short month, there is no shortage of fun things to do in Charleston. The Southeastern Wildlife Expo unofficially kicks off the spring event season but there are plenty of other events taking place if wildlife and nature aren’t your things. Here are some of our top picks for February:
- Southeastern Wildlife Expo: Taking place every February, the Southeastern Wildlife Expo (or SEWE as it’s known to locals) is the largest event of its kind in the US. Over 40,000 attendees flock to Charleston for the three-day festival which celebrates “wildlife and nature through fine art, conservation education, sporting demonstrations” and more. Events are varied and take place at venues throughout the city from February 12th through the 14th. Photo Credit (SEWE)
- Second Sunday on King: After you’re done with the SEWE festivities in Marion Square Park, head over to King Street for Second Sunday on King on February 14th. This monthly event turns King Street into a pedestrian thoroughfare (from Calhoun to Broad Streets) so you can stroll, shop and socialize in the street.
- Brewvival: If you like craft beer, then this event is for you. A hand-selected group of local, regional and national brewers will come together for this one-day celebration of all things beer with live music, food vendors and beer samples. The Brewvival event will take place on February 27th at Coast Brewing Company in North Charleston.
