Charleston is getting into the holiday spirit! December is one the best times of year in the Lowcountry and there are many great events going on throughout the city this month. Here are three fun events to look forward to this month:
- Holiday Festival of Lights (November 9th-January 1st): Now in its 29th year, the Holiday Festival of Lights is a signature event that many look forward to each holiday season. Two million sparkling lights transform the James Island County Park into a winter wonderland, with fun activities including marshmallow roasting, visits with Santa, train rides and more. The festival opens each night at 5:30pm. (Image from Holiday Festival of Lights)
- Candlelight Tours at Nathaniel Russell House (Fridays & Saturdays December 7th-22nd): One of Charleston’s most popular house museums, the Nathaniel Russell House, will be offering candlelight tours on Fridays and Saturdays in December. There will be two tours offered nightly, so you can enjoy this stately 19th century home in the romantic light at day’s end. (Image from Historic Charleston Foundation)
- Cigar Factory’s Holiday Bazaar Market (December 15th): Still have some holiday shopping to do? Head to the Cigar Factory on East Bay Street for their annual Holiday Bazaar on December 15th.
