The Cassina Guide: April Events

With warmer weather here to stay, April is an ideal month to get out and explore the beautiful Lowcountry.  Several annual events are set to take place this month; here are some of our favorites:

  1. Volvo Car Open: Taking place now through April 10th, the Volvo Car Open (formerly the Family Circle Cup) brings together some of the top female tennis players from around the world to compete for the championship title.  The event takes place on Daniel Island with day and night sessions leading up to the finals on Sunday morning.
  2. HCFHistoric Charleston Foundation House & Garden Tours: One of the most remarkable features of downtown Charleston is its beautifully preserved private homes and gardens.  The Historic Charleston Foundation’s House and Garden Tour, presented by The Cassina Group, showcases the city’s distinctive architecture, history, gardens and culture through a series of neighborhood strolls.  Events are taking place now through April 24th–and be sure to stop by the Charlotte Street Tour on April 9th where our Cassina agents will be acting as docents.Food
  3. Southern Ground Music & Food Festival: Combining two of our favorite things–music and food–the popular Southern Ground Music & Food Festival returns to the Lowcountry on April 16th and 17th.  The two-day festival is hosted by the Zac Brown Band with over ten musical acts each day along with scrumptious food from local and regional vendors.Mt. 4. Blessing of the Fleet: Head over to Memorial Waterfront Park in Mount Pleasant on April 24th for the 29th Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival.  A boat parade, live music, craft show and more will take place, paying homage to the town’s local shrimping and fishing industry.
