April is one of our favorite times of year in the Lowcountry. There are several highly anticipated annual events taking place this month. Here are our top picks for April:
- 70th Annual Festival of Houses & Gardens (now-April 22nd): We are thrilled to be the presenting sponsor for this year’s Festival of Houses & Gardens. The annual event, run by the Historic Charleston Foundation, opens some of Charleston’s stunning private houses and gardens to showcase the city’s distinctive architecture, history, gardens and culture. Tours take place daily from now through April 22nd.
(Image from Historic Charleston Foundation) - Lowcountry Strawberry Festival (April 20-23): This family-friendly event takes place at Mount Pleasant’s Boone Hall Farm. The weekend long celebration will include family attractions, festival rides and strawberry picking.

The festivities take place at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park and will include a boat parade, live music, craft show, seafood sampling and lots of free activities.
