The weather in Charleston is beautiful this time of year and there is no shortage of things to do this month. Here are our most-anticipated events for the month of May:
- North Charleston Arts Fest (May 2-6): This five day festival takes place the first weekend in May with over 100 artists and performers There’s something for everyone from concerts to theatre presentations to children’s programs, exhibitions and more. - Hops and Vines (May 10 & 24): Hosted by Charleston County Parks, this evening event takes place from 5:30-7:30 at McLeod Plantation on James Island. Enjoy live music, beer, wine and a food truck while learning more about this former cotton plantation’s storied history. Events will take place on May 10th and 24th. - The Atlantic Cup (May 22-26): The Atlantic Cup, the longest offshore race in the Western Atlantic, will begin in Charleston this year. The race kicks off at noon on May 26th, so stop by beforehand to see the boats at the Charleston City Marina. On May 24th, the Cup will host a Kids Program so children can see the boats up close and talk to the sailors. (Image from The Atlantic Cup)
