Summertime in Charleston is one of our favorite seasons of the year! It’s hard to believe that area schools will soon be back in session so for now we are soaking in every last bit of summer fun. Here are some of our top event picks for the month of August:
- Sunset at Fort Sumter (Fridays in August): There’s no better way to see Charleston than from the water. Every Friday in August, Fort Sumter Tours will host a sunset cruise on the harbor with an exclusive evening tour of historic fort. The price includes southern BBQ cuisine, and beer, wine and cocktails are available for purchase.
(Image from Sunset at Fort Sumter) - Charleston Summer Wine Festival (August 17th): Savor the summer while sampling 50+ wines and beers from around the world. The event will be held at downtown’s Memminger Auditorium and will also feature live music, a DJ and a souvenir wine glass.

Gates open at 7:30pm, with music starting at 8pm and food, beverages and souvenirs available for purchase.
