1. Local Farmers Markets (throughout the month of April): With the return of warmer weather comes the resurgence of popular local farmers markets throughout the city! These markets are a great way to shop locally with a collection of fresh produce, locally made goods and tasty prepared foods available for sale. The markets take place throughout the Lowcountry so there’s always time to pop into one close by. Our favorites include the markets in Mt. Pleasant (Tuesdays at 3:30pm-7:00pm), West Ashley (Wednesdays 3-7pm), Downtown (Saturdays 8am-2pm), and James Island (Sundays 11am-3pm).
2. Garden Strolls & Wine Tasting (April 20th & 27th): Every Thursday in April, head over to Middleton Place, America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens, to enjoy the beautiful grounds while sipping on samples of old and new world wines. The event takes place from 5:30-7:30pm.
3. The Sound of Charleston (April 20th & 27th): Enjoy the music of Charleston’s rich history, from gospel spirituals to jazz, at this weekly live concert at downtown’s Circular Congregational Church. Learn more about the city through music from the city.
