Cassina Client Spotlight : The Blackstone Family

After living in Seattle for almost twenty years, Dawn and Eric Blackstone decided it was time for a change.  They relocated to the Lowcountry with their two young children this fall and are loving living in Mount Pleasant’s Old Village.  To help with the cross-country home search, they utilized REALTOR Patty Mogul.  Learn more about their experience and new home below!

What do you do for work?

D: I own Blackstone Fit.  I’m a certified personal trainer and a nutrition specialist and I do a lot of functional fitness type stuff.

E: I teach children’s tennis.

What motivated you to move?

E: We wanted a healthy place to raise our family.

D: The weather, the people, and the schools.

What was the home search like?

E: We were here last January for a month and went into the Cassina office and were introduced to Patty.  She was super nice and helpful and we loved her.  Then we went back to Seattle sort of with the intention of seeing if we could make it work there, but after about 3 months of rain and bad traffic and everything, we decided: “Nope, we’re going to do it!”  So from there we found this house online.  We put an offer in and then came and checked it out.

D: I didn’t see it until we moved in!

What were the key selling points of this home?

E: The light and the classic floor plan.  It feels like a classic Southern home.  We liked the porch and the backyard.

D: And the Old Village location!

How was your experience working with your Patty?

E: It was excellent.  She was very, very thorough.  She advocated on our behalf.

D:  Very attentive.

E: Quick to respond.  Super friendly.

D: Made us comfortable being 3,000 miles away because she was taking care of everything.

Did you renovate or take on any home improvement projects after moving in?

E: We’ve done some painting and redid the bathroom.  We’re kind of working through our list of stuff!

What is your favorite spot in your new home?

D: I like the front porch.

E:  Yeah the front porch is really cool!

What are your favorite things to do in the area or neighborhood?

D: We love Alhambra Park, we go almost every day!  It’s a mile walk so its super convenient.
