1533 Appling Drive in Mount Pleasant
1533 Appling Drive is a custom-built family home located in the heart of Mount Pleasant. The home was designed by renowned architectural firm Allison Ramsey, who has designed many homes in I’On, and it was built by Buffington Homes, a custom home builder on Kiawah Island. The well-thought out floor plan makes the most of the home’s 1,876 square feet of space, and you will find custom, high-end finishes at every turn.
As you enter the home, you will instantly be impressed with the open floor plan and the soaring, vaulted ceilings. There are many high-end finishes throughout the home including solid core interior doors, hardwood flooring, recessed lighting, high-end fixtures and more.
The main living spaces include a living room, dining area and kitchen—all located within this one large, open area. The design of this space incorporates multiple sets of French doors and numerous windows allowing lots of natural light to filter into the rooms, and there is also access to the over-sized front porch. There is a wood-burning fireplace and built-in bookshelves in the living room, and the kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite counters, tall cabinets and a spacious breakfast bar. There is also a spacious pantry (which doubles as a laundry room) and a half-bath.
In the back section of the downstairs, you will find the master bedroom. The spacious room has multiple windows and the bathroom showcases marble counters, marble floors, a tile and glass shower and a walk-in closet. Across the hall from the master suite, there is a well-defined room that could be used as a play room, office or study. There is also access from the hallway to the backyard.
Upstairs, you will find the remaining two bedrooms. The wide upstairs landing overlooks the downstairs level and gives you a great bird’s eye view of the home. It also lends a sense of privacy to each bedroom as they are on opposite ends of the upstairs level, separated by this landing. Each of the bedrooms also has its own en suite bathroom.
The outdoor living spaces of the home are also a highlight. The home is located in the Shell Point neighborhood, which is a family-friendly community complete with sidewalks, quiet streets and a play area for the children. The yard has been expertly landscaped with native shrubbery, Palmetto trees, and green grass, and there are plenty of mature trees surrounding the property. Both the front and back of the home have over-sized porches which provide a great place to enjoy the warm Charleston weather. There is also a paved driveway which allows off-street parking and a safe place for children to play.
