Wild Dunes Homes and Condos For Sale

Life on Isle of Palms

The northernmost of the three Charleston barrier islands, Isle of Palms offers a wide range of Charleston beach front homes.  Despite being only twenty minutes from downtown Charleston, arriving at an Isle of Palms Home and Wild Dunes Home also means arriving in a relaxed, family-friendly beach community.  Isle of Palms is a popular ‘destination’ vacation spot, with an abundance of activities, dining and nightlife which make Isle of Palms SC Real Estate and Wild Dunes SC Real Estate properties attractive to investors as well.

The island is very family oriented and enforces strict rules to make sure it stays this way. The beach prohibits alcohol, glass bottles of any kind, fireworks, camping, bonfires and littering. This is a downfall for most college kids who are more likely to visit Folly Beach for a more mellow atmosphere. These rules do keep the island safe, clean and upscale for its residents and visitors. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all time (this includes being in the water). The main water sport on the island is kite surfing, but littler surfers come since the island is lacking big waves. The county park offers many amenities such as a lifeguard, bathrooms, showers, picnic tables and beach chairs for rent.

Isle of Palms offers mouth watering dining options, but their southern cooking is what hooks you in. If you are interested in beachside dining some of the restaurants to look into are Windjammer, Banana Cabana, and Coconut Joe's. All-in-all this beach attracts families wishing to escape from the college scene and surround themselves in a relaxing environment.
