One of the only downsides to this beautiful city is the heat index during the summer season. Charleston has a humid subtropical climate making the winters relatively warm and hot, humid summers.

Some of the most popular attractions in Charleston have to do with the interesting history that this city possesses. The Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon is the home to where various signers of the Declaration of Independence gathered as well as hosted events for George Washington in the late 1700’s and the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. The first museum to ever be built in the U.S. is also here, known as the Charleston Museum and was founded in 1773.
The Charleston RiverDogs is the local minor league baseball team co-owned by Bill Murray who often attends games.
Fishing off the Battery, rickshaw rides through the streets and shopping are other popular past-times for locals and visitors alike.
There are many neighborhoods within the city limits; the most esteemed being South of Broad where visitors have included Robert Edward Lee, Teddy Roosevelt, and George Washington. Another prestigious neighborhood downtown is the French Quarter, a historic neighborhood with upscale boutiques and impressive real estate. A more affordable, yet also historic neighborhood is Wagener Terrace with charming cottages and family homes.
